Physiotherapist: Faeda de la Rey

Qualification: BSc (Physiotherapy) Wits

Faeda de la Rey graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2011. She has 8 years of extensive clinical experience in treating musculo-skeletal injuries, neck and back injuries and sports injuries. As a young and ambitious physio, she started her first Physiotherapy practice in 2013 which was located in Mayfair on the infamous Church street. To strengthen her physiotherapy skills she has attended a number of post- graduate courses including deep dry needling techniques, Orthopaedic manipulative therapy (OMT), exercises rehabilitation and soft tissue and joint techniques. Her long term goal is obtain her Masters in Physiotherapy and pursue a career in lecturing.

Work Experience:

  • South Rand Hospital : Neurological rehabilitation Centre- here she focused on treating all types of conditions including peadiatric and adult conditions.
  • Bosmont- Dr Fahmida Rasdien: shadowing of Dr Rasdien to learn more about general medical conditions.
  • Netcare Garden City Clinic : Orthopaedic conditions, ICU and high care experience.
  • Lavanyaa Naidoo Physiotherapy-healthwork : Made an indelible mark on Faeda. Here she gained her love for treating neuro-muscular conditions and sports injuries.
  • Akeso: A psychiatric facility and a drug rehabilitation. Here she observed and gained experience in how to treat the physical effects of psychological disorders and addictions as well as stress related conditions.

Faeda de la Rey is registered with the South African society of physiotherapy, the health professional council of south Africa as well as BHF council.

Podiatrist: Yaseera Hajee

Registered Podiatrist and Owner

Qualification: B (tech) Podiatry UJ

Yaseera Hajee qualified as a podiatrist from the University of Johannesburg with a with Btech podiatry in June 2013. She started her first practice in Lydenburg which still exists as she attends to it once a month to see patients. In 2014 she served as a locum at the University of Johannesburg, where she supervised students while gaining managerial and lecturing experience. In 2014 she spread my wing out of Lydenburg and opened her second Podiatry practice at the Crosby Medical Centre , a multi-disciplinary medical Centre in the heart of Crosby. She aim to provide optimal foot and lower limb health care in a friendly, professional environment. Being committed to on-going research and training, she enjoy keeping up-to-date with the latest professional developments, diagnostic and treatment trends in the podiatric world.  She is registered with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and The Board of Health Care Funders of South Africa.

Physiotherapist: Aamaarah Akhalwaya

Registered Physiotherapist and Locum

Ammaarah Akhalwaya is a qualified physiotherapist who is currently a locum at Faeda De Le Rey Physiotherapy. She is a passionate professional who takes a keen interest in ensuring her patients well-being with focus on quality of life and movement potential. Ammaarah qualified in 2017 and went on to complete level 1 dry needling course and currently pursuing further knowledge in the physiotherapy field to better assist patients with a multi faceted approach.
